Review of Hounz Lane Park: By Stephanie

Hounz Lane Park is off of Hurstbourne Parkway across from Tom Sawyer Park.  It is a very small park with a lot to offer!  It is our new “go to” park!  There is plenty of grassy area to run and play or fly a kite.  We have picnicked there too. There is a picnic shelter with tables, plenty of room for a couple of families. There are also several picnic tables spread out around the park.   There are grills for you to use if you bring some charcoal and supplies.  There is one port-a-potty.

For sports, there are tennis courts and a multi-purpose field that has lacrosse nets and a backstop for baseball or softball.

There is a small but very nice playground that gets good shade in the afternoon.  An added bonus for the hot days ahead!  There are swings, regular and baby swings, these do not get shade.  The ground at the playground is covered in wood mulch and there are some rubber padded areas.  It is also nice that they have benches close to the playground for parents.

There is a small stream that runs through the park and a short path that runs along it with a bridge to cross over. Although I did not fish the stream, both times that I was there, I saw kids and their families with some equipment for fishing.  I don’t know what’s in the stream or whether or not they even caught anything!
