To go on a family vacation is so difficult with my family. I am 26 years old and I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful 3 year old daughter who are my world. Little do others know, I also am the legal guardian for my 54 year old uncle who is mentally handicapped and I care for my mother, who suffers from bipolar disorder. So vacation is a word I don't hear much for us. oh and I forgot to mention that both my husband and I work full time night shift and I am in my Master's program full time for Nursing Education?!? I know, seems tough and alot of work! With everything that goes on, we rarely have time to think, let alone the time or money to spend on a getaway. To take a few days away from it all would be such a great break for me, my husband, and my daughter! It would be a much needed mental health break! PLease consider us in your getaway contest! it would be a great mental health day for us! God Bless!

Why do I need this, you ask!? Well, first of all I am a stay at home mom with 2 children and another on the way. My husband travels 100+ days out of the year and in over 12 years that we have been together, we have NEVER gone on vacation. not to the beach. not to disney world. not to gatlinburg. nothing. Even if it's only for one night, it would be much appreciated! :)

My family would LOVE a weekend getaway!! We have had a very hectic year with one child leaving for college, one starting a new high school and the third one starting kindergarten. A weekend getaway is just what we need to reconnect and relax away from all the hustle and bustle of life. Add to that, our house is for sale and we can't mess it up EVER... so staying home is getting OLD!

We haven't been on a family vacation in 2 years!

We need a weekend getaway because we just celebrated our 8 year anniversary Monday and we were lucky to get a babysitter so we could go out to dinner but would love to do more and just have fun together!

ooooooh do I need a weekend to relax and have some fun....with my ex husband not living up to his end of the deal and ruining my mood on top of ruining me financially...and helping my sister out by helping to pay for my nephews graduation party just so he can have one I am going to need a weekend!

We are a busy family and never have time to sit down and even enjoy a meal together most of the time except on holidays. I am in nursing school full time and work when I can fit it in. So I dont get to spend time with my kids for studying. And by me not being able to work as much cuts out on the family fun until I graduate. If my family is chosen we would like to thank you in advance. Stephanie S.

I have never been here but heard wonderful things and read the recent review. I am a single mom to a 2 & 4 year old (boys). With one income, it's like next to impossible to have any sort of get away (near or far) and I would love to take my dudes here for some water fun!

I've been homeschooling a crazy 4 year old, running my older daughter to wherever she needs to be, trying to get in time with my husband while working close to full-time from home. It's chaos and we need a break!

Unfortunately due to the economy and the type of work my husband is in times have been tough. Sadly we have had to cancel our trip to Disney World which was hard as a parent to explain to our kids. This would make their summer if I, being a stay at home mom, was able to provide my family a special trip no matter how small. Saying a prayer and keeping my fingers crossed that I win!

Just like most families we struggle everyday, how wonderful would it be to surprise my wife and kids with a special trip that I would otherwise not be able to afford. We all wish, as fathers we could do more for our family and what a wonderful blessing this would be!

My hubby and I are 'talking' about starting a family in the next year, and we sure could use a free getaway, we haven't vacationed since our honeymoon! I have a busy cupcake business and he works full time, and it would be a great time for us to reconnect before we head down the baby journey :)

hi all, my family and me could really use a vacation to break our routine and get us out of these four walls. i am a stay at home mother of two wild boys (2yrs&5yrs) and i also provide childcare foe a few of my single mother friends which lead to a very hecked day. once all the others kids leave and hubby gets home from his hecked day at work all we have time for is dinner, baths, and bedtime routine before we have to do it all again. also one of the girls i watch has severe asthma so that limits the things we can do during the day. and with the weather lately we have been stuck in these four walls for too long. Please LFF pick us for a getaway. :)

Wow! We would love a family getaway. If being a mom and a store owner were not enough we are remodeling our house so all four of us are in one bed room for at least 6 months!!! Getting outof this construction zone would be blissful.

And Pirate's Bay look like a blast.

We have never been able to take a family vacation in the 9 years since we had our first kid. It's a trade-off we gladly make, but our family could use some fun and a change of scenery! We have been through the same things as everyone - layoffs, deaths, illness and other incredible challenges, but the bottom line is FAMILIES ROCK! We help each other get through it all. Thank you LFF for giving us so many ideas and fun opportunities. Keep up the great work!

We would love to have a family vacation. I work 1st shift while my husband works third shift and he has to ask off 6 months in advance in order to do anything. This would be nice to do for him as a surprise. He stays home with our 5 year old son all day and only gets to relax when I get home.

My husband and I just had our second baby in less than two years. He is a pastor and I am SAHM. We save all of our extra money to help the people in our church pay their bills, and we are happy to do it. But that leaves no money for us to go on a vacation. We would love to win this at no cost so we can get away, and still save our money to help our church family.

I am a mother and a grandmother. I have not been on a vacation since my kids were in middle school....thats almost a decade ago! WOW! I have been considering filing for bankruptcy lately. I can pay my bills but all my extra money goes to taking care of my kids. Its literally impossible to go on a vacation when you have no money. This little getaway would be such a blessing to my family. We could go away as a family and my grandson would love that water park. I would love to be your winner.

Oh why I need a getaway, let me count the ways...
Let's just sum it up by saying that this decade is not starting out too well. My family and I would love the chance to get away for a stress-less night and relax with water slides and hotel movies. Now putting on a bathing suit is a whole other story but I will be brave.

My family would love to win this prize. We do not stay overnight very much anymore when we come to Louisville. With increased gas prices, my husband taking early retirement and my being a stay at home mom, we rarely get to stay in a hotel. My 12 year old daughter loves to swim and getting to visit the water park would be an ultimate vacation and celebration of the end of her first year of middle school. I'd love to win this prize and be able to blog about it and link back to Louisville Family Fun. Crossing my fingers and saying a quick prayer. Janet R.

My family needs some time together! I have been working nights for the last six years, and started graduate school full time this winter. I am still in school full time, just changed jobs, and we need a break together! My children are 11 and 13, and my youngest has Autism. They have a very hard time together, and it would be so nice to take a couple days from our hectic schedules to have some sincere family bonding time and to make wonderful memories. Thanks! Ok, here goes, and this is why I worked so hard on that spring photo contest to get people voting. My husband was diagnoised with T Cell Acute lymphoblastic Lymphoma and spent Novembmer and December in the hospital, getting out 2 days before christmas. He is till undergoing extensive therapy and chemo. Things have been impossible and over whelming in every aspect. My kids have not been able to have many freinds over and I have been so over extended that I can not give them all the attention they need. We need some fun in our lives and money is not there. We go to ball games and we have a membership the science center that we had before he got sick. I try and find free things to do and I do find them thanks to your site. It is not a pitty party and I don't want to feel like I am using the cancer card, but this is my life as I know it right now and we all need to get away and just have fun.

Thanks,

It's not unusual for my husband to work 60+ hours in a week. On top of working, he is also in school full-time at Sullivan. He's a wonderful father, and I know that it's hard on him to not be able to spend much time with our children right now. We really need time to reconnect as a family, and I know it would be a great Father's Day gift to him to see our two babies laughing and playing at Pirate's Bay. -Brittany S.

Just to go and have fun with my boys would be a dream come true! Thanks

All of our "family vacations" have ALWAYS had too much family in them! We have not taken a family vacation (or really gone much of anywhere special) just the four of us, since our oldest son was born over 4 years ago! Heck, our families even came with us on our honeymoon!!!
PLUS, we have two little boys who LOVE pirates! ARRRGH!!!

I have never taken my 2 boys on a vacation by ourselves. The only "vacations" we have had were actually working servant events with our Church, and we could really use one of just rest and relaxation just for us! They are 13 and 14 now, and are growing up too quickly!! I have tried my best to give them the best childhood ever, but I feel it is coming to a screeching halt... they are becoming wonderful young men, though :))

I would love to win this to be able to take my niece & my son!!! My son really wants to go to the beach but would settle for this because we can't afford a vacation. My niece is the youngest of 3 who's dad doesn't pay his child support. Kids should be able to have fun while they're young and not have to worry about their parent's finacial burdens. Hope I can win this for them.

I am a mom of 3 very busy boys and a full time nurse, i take care of people 24/7, whether it is my own family or someone's else's loved one. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy EVERY minute of it! But being a nurse, i work a lot of hours and often am not able to spend as much relaxing time my kids as I would like, this would be a great opportunity to do just that! Splashing around, laughing and having a good time with my kids would be a relaxing, wonderful time. Thank you for posting this contest. Sondra G.

WOW! I'm not sure how you can possibly pick from all of these! Here are our "family facts":

*Hubby works six days a week with really silly hours--doesn't get home from work until the kiddos are in bed
*I'm in graduate school...for some reason they don't think grad students need spring break (or summer for that matter!). I won't have a week off of school until August...then I get to go back after a mere two weeks! :)
*Because I'm in school, I'm not working. Well, I work...but I don't get paid! :) (I am counseling at the Archdiocese for internship) One worker in the family means living pay check to pay check and only buying "needs."
*My nine year old just absolutely LOVES doing "special" things with the family. I'm trying to take advantage of that because I know those days are just about over! :) What a great treat this would be for her!
*I envision my toddler seeing the water park. She is such a water enthusiast--I'm sure she would shriek "WATUUU!" (that was my best toddler impression!)

Good luck choosing your winner--I wouldn't want to do it!

Why we need a family get away to a fun waterpark? I will say it very simply: 4 boys under the age of 8 :) Boys have a lot of energy and a pool would help them burn some of it! I am a stay at home Mom, my husband just started a new job. We are adjusting to new schedule and would LOVE a chance to getaway!!

Pick me, pick me :)

I have thought a lot about entering this giveaway/contest and finally decided that i need to put my feelings of embarrassment aside because i realize that it is for my children.

We are a family of 6. I have two teenage daughters and two toddler boys. Every year, around this time I look up all the theme parks that are in our close driving area, hoping to be able to afford a trip for our family. And each time i am defeated. With a family as large as ours, we would easily spend way over $200. There is absolutely no way we could do it. Our daughters actually hate summers, because when they return to school, they have nothing to share with all the other kids that have done things. This would be a much appreciated getaway for them. My husbands workday starts at 3:30 am and ends at 8 pm, only to do it all over again the next day. We have never been to a waterpark of any kind, my boys and daughters would thoroughly enjoy it. It would be a cool diversion from our usual ho-hum summers.

Our family just needs to reconnect, be able to take each other in, and not only laugh together, but smile outwardly at one another.

Becky M.
