Review of Riverview Park

PhotobucketI will start by saying, I forgot my camera when we visited this park!  Darn!  I did snag one shot with my phone.  Luckily, the Louisville Metro Parks website has nice photos so you can get the idea of what to expect.

Please note, this post is older and some of the information may have changed.

Riverview Park is located in Southwest Louisville right on the Ohio River.  It is very easy to access from the Gene Snyder, so it’s a great park for just about anyone.  If you have been to the new Creekside Playground in the east end, it is a perfect comparison since Riverview is also a new park.

Riverview park has scenic walking trails that are wonderful for exercising but the best part is the playground areas.  There is a sprayground and several play structures.  The sprayground is more than just a single spout, it has many fun fountains that my kids really enjoyed splashing in and running about.  There are 2 adjacent playgrounds, each has something different to offer and are good for many ages.  Then, set off closer to the river, there is an additional playground with swings, slides and all of the usual set in a mulch bed.  There are many picnic tables and a nice bench swing to sit and enjoy the view.  And, permanent bathroom facilities that are always a bonus at playgrounds.

Whether it is near or far from you in Louisville, this is a wonderful park to visit for a full morning or afternoon of family fun.  You can splash, play, picnic, ride bikes or walk.  I am so glad that I explored this one!
