Review: Hint Beverages - Hydration for the entire family

As you can tell from reading these blog entries, my family and I are out and about quite a bit.  I am always packing lunches for picnics and outings.  I have a major struggle with beverage choices.  My kids love juice boxes and pouch drinks and more than anything, they want whatever I am drinking.  I usually drink 1 diet soda a day so it's typically when we are out picnicking.  I need another option.  I need something that when my 2 year old begs for a sip of my drink, I don't feel so bad giving her a taste!  I need something that's well rounded for the entire family.

PhotobucketI stumbled upon a drink called Hint.  It is available at Whole Foods, and Starbucks also.  Drinking enough fluids is crucial for children. However, my kids don't like to drink plain water. So, they want to share my soda or want several juices.

San Francisco mother of four Kara Goldin came up with a simple solution – HINT, water that just tastes better. HINT Water is an all natural essence water that is unlike the other ‘healthy drinks’ on the shelves because it actually contains zero calories, no sugars and no artificial flavors or preservatives. It is available in ten flavors including Watermelon, Blackberry, Pomegranate-Tangerine, Strawberry-Kiwi, Raspberry-Lime, Mango-Grapefruit, Lime, Pear, Honeydew-Hibiscus and Cucumber. Yes, cucumber! I liked the watermelon the best and I shared some with a friend. She enjoyed it and her son really liked the Pomegranate-Tangerine, he came back for a fill-up.  My husband likes the Blackberry the best and my kids were fans of the Strawberry-kiwi.

All in all, HINT water offers healthy hydration without the sugar. It’s the perfection option for families because everyone can enjoy it.  It comes in a plastic bottle with a twist top so you can pour some to share and it's portable.  With family fun comes some necessities you have to worry about and you definitely need to prepare to make sure you have everything your family needs when you are hiking, playing at the zoo or on a day trip.  I think Hint is a great alternative to juice boxes and canned soda!
