The Gaslight Festival Parade is part of the Jeffersontown Gaslight Festival. It was on Thursday the 15th at 6pm and ran for about 2 hours. We went up Watterson Trail until the road was blocked and just turned down some side streets to find parking, not a problem at all. We sat right on the sidewalk and curb to wait for the parade. Many of the area businesses were out selling food, churches had grills going, there was a DJ in the parking lot right next to where we sat. It’s an all around happening event, not just a parade. The parade started promptly, we had to wait until about 6:15 to see anything since we were on the end of the parade route. My kids loved the different tractors the best! We brought snacks and drinks with us to save money so I wouldn’t be tempted to buy food, but many of the parade participants tossed out treats.

Over all, it was a really nice parade. Simple and obviously a great community event.  The only negative point was the random people selling things.  There were some vendors with carts that probably got approval from the chamber, but some people were just individually rolling coolers selling drinks?  I would like the Jeffersontown Chamber to have some sort of ID to give approved vendors so that I know they went through the proper channel to be allowed to participate in the event.
