Here are my top 5 things for you to do this weekend in and around Kentuckiana that are family friendly and affordable!

1) You can take advantage of an incredible and unique opportunity to tour the USS LST 325 that is docked at the downtown wharf.  It will be open for tours through Saturday, 9am - 5pm. It is here as part of the Medal of Honor Convention.
Admission to LST 325: Adults - $10; Students K-12 - $5; Families as a group - $20.  That's a great family deal.

2) The St. James Arts Show in Old Louisville is a popular Louisville event!  It is happening all weekend and features over 700 artists.  I recommend browsing around down there, taking in this wonderful niche of Louisville and heading across the street to central park for a picnic and some play time for the kids!

3) It's a wonderful time of year to be outside and what better than to tour Frankfort Ave for the FAT Friday Hop!  It's free to ride the trolley starting at 6pm on Friday so grab some pizza at Cliftons, ride the trolley, stop for some dessert at Sweet Surrender and who knows what else!

4)  Once a month, Squallis Puppeteers puts on a workshop and it's this Saturday!  There's a performance and a puppet making workshop.  The performance is $5 and the workshop is $5.  That's a great price for such a one-of-a-kind family experience.  This weekend, the show is called "Elephant's Child" and it's at the School of Sharks Theater on Eastern Parkway.

5)  Enjoy some free outdoor music to celebrate the Week in the Highlands at the Highland-Douglass Big Rock Jazz Fest at the Big Rock area of Cherokee park.  It's on Sunday October 2nd from 2-7pm.

Like always these are just a selection! There are even more things to do listed on our calendar. Have a great weekend!

Stephanie
