Events & Things to do in and around Louisville for New Year's Eve with your family

2012, can you believe it!  Whether you are looking for the best way to occupy your children or something to do with your kids to celebrate the New Year, we have some event for you to take a look at! 


What to do in Louisville for New Year's Eve with Kids?  Where can you drop the kids for their own New Year's Eve fun and you can go out? 

For the Kids

All About Kids hosts a New Year's Eve Slumber party.  It is $50 per child for kids 5 and up. The kids are there from 7pm until 9am and enjoy swimming, pizza, cookies, open gym, movies and more!

The kids (8-12) can head to the Louisville Zoo for a "Snooze"  that is overnight from 7pm to 10am.  The children will play games, take a night walk around the zoo and have a countdown at midnight.  They get dinner, snack, a shirts, favors and breakfast.  It's $75 for members and $90 in general.

For the Family

Hop on the FAT Friday Hop starting at 6:30 ending at 10:30.  There will be many businesses participating for this New Year's Hop!  You can get more specifics on their Facebook event page!

The Louisville Science Center has their annual Noon Year's Celebration. All activities are free with admission and take place from December 31st to January 2nd from 10am to 4pm. Activities include exploring inventions throughout history or a ballooon drop....and more!

Dance in the New Year at Southwest library starting at 2:30 on the 31st.  Stories and Games for all ages!

Head to the Main Library downtown for stories and a NOISY craft to chime in the New Year. It's on December 31st at 2pm.

Cruise the Ohio on the Spirit of Jefferson with the family for an early New Year's Eve dinner that sets sail at 5:30 and be home to watch the ball drop or head out for other plans. 

For the Adults

Jim Porter's Good Time Emporium has a New Year's Eve Blowout starting at 6pm and ending at 4am with a baloon drop, champagne at midnight, favors and more.  There's live entertainment and tickets are just $20, with a hotel package available at the Best Western. 

The local band, The Louisville Crashers, will be at The Grand in New Albany for a New Year's Eve concert and gala.  Tickets range from $30 to $150. 
Why not a champagne toast at midnight on the Spirit of Jefferson for their late night New Year's Eve Bash?! There's dinner and favors and the cruise runs from 10pm to 1am.

The Crowne Plaza at the Louisville Airport hosts a New Year's Eve Party and overnight package. It's $299 per couple and you get an overnight stay, dinner, casino tables, drink tickets, champagne at midnight and a buffet in the morning.  There's also live entertainment.  Great option is you don't want to go out, but not worry about drinking and driving!

Kye's in Jeffersonville has a fun New Year's Eve party that's $60 per person and includes  dancing, free draft beer, food, party favors and a photo booth!

4th Street Live has Louisville's version of the ball drop at midnight.  Festivities begin at 9pm and is free. There are options for open bar passes and all access passes.

Go all out at the Galt House for their Night of All Nights New Year's Eve 2012 packages.  You can choose dinner and dancing packages or overnight packages!  Have fun!
