Things to do this weekend around Louisville - July 5,6,7

First things first - let's all do a sunshine dance. You know, the anti-rain dance.  There's been so much rain that some of my plants in my garden are even dying from being so saturated.  Enough, let's get our dancing moves ready and join forces to convince the sun to show it's face!  Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhh, I don't like this rain!!!!!

There. Nice to have that out of my system.

Friday - try a re-do on the 4th of July fun. Luckily the Crescent Hill Old Fashioned 4th celebration also takes place on the 5th. If we all coordinate our anti-rain dance, maybe it will be nice enough to really enjoy it with the kids. It's 10 am until 10 pm at the Peterson-Dumesnil House Friday.

Also on Friday, one of my favorite local bands is playing at Westport Village. It's Kudmani. Grab a treat at Comfy Cow ice cream and then dance the night away with the kids. It's from 7-10pm, weather permitting. Darn weather.

Find some time to tune into a Louisville.am podcast. I've been talking up a storm, sorry....not the rain storm, don't blame that on me. Anyway, I hope you like them - check them out!

Over multiple days, how about a free downtown walking tour? These are so popular, they've even added days. Tours take place Fridays and Sundays at 2PM and Saturdays at 10:30AM through November 3, 2013. You should call 502-379-6109 one day in advance to reserve your spot. Walk-ins are taken based on availability.

And last, maybe there is something to enjoy about this rain?  Full ponds, lakes, rivers etc. On Saturday, it's Family Canoe Day at Tom Wallace Lake from 10am-2pm.  You can take a canoe out and spend time learning about what's going on around the lake. They will give you a little lesson on the basics of canoe in and you'll get to practice your skills. All equipment (canoe, paddles, and personal flotation devices) is provided. Recommended for ages 5 and to adult. FEE: Activities Free; $10.00 canoe rental. Call 368-5404 to check the status of this event, I have heard that it's been rescheduled in the past due to high water levels so with all of this rain.
