Derby Dinner Playhouse has a new Children's Theatre show -THE TOOTH FAIRY. We had the opportunity to see it on February 21. There are other public

Your kids have probably asked you many questions about the tooth fairy, trying to figure out how she gets into their room, what she does with the teeth, how she decides what they get in return - the questions are endless. This adorable musical shows them that questions are great but sometimes, it's good to just let your imagination wander and that answers aren't always as fun! It reminds the audience that being a kid is freeing and that adults (who know everything, right?) don't use their imagination as much and when you are a kid, just be a kid. We laughed out loud quite a few times and I really got a kick out of the actors' funny quirks and facial expressions as they acted like six-year-olds learning about science at school. One of the cutest parts of the show was the use of "real" kids in videos talking about the tooth fairy - nothing beats adorable kids saying funny things!
My daughter is 6 and just lost 3 teeth, one right after the other. It was perfect timing to take her to this play. Like all of the Derby Dinner shows, she was enthralled. She absolutely loves the shows. I asked her what she thought of it and she reported by comparing it to the last show she saw stating "I liked Rudolph the best but THE TOOTH FAIRY was really nice too. I liked her wings." Kids! I really do think Derby Dinner does a great job keeping the show moving for young audiences, keeping it silly (they did say poop during this show!) and making sure to have a life lesson come through with every play. I think it's so important to expose my children to the arts and Derby Dinner makes is accessible because it's affordable, there's food (we love food), the show is not too long and the themes are perfect for young audiences.
All public performances of THE TOOTH FAIRY are on Saturdays with Breakfast at
9:00 a.m. and Lunch at 12:00 p.m. An evening performance has been added on Monday
