For the first time ever, independent bookstores in the Greater Louisville area are partnering for READ FOR THE ROSES — a two-week long celebration surrounding Independent Bookstore Day, which takes place on Saturday, April 27th. Participating bookstores include Carmichael’s Bookstore (Frankfort Ave and Bardstown Rd locations), Carmichael’s Kids, Foxing Books, A Novel Romance, Butcher Cabin Books, Set & Setting, and The Rosewater Bookstore. Please join in and celebrate Louisville’s 9th Holi Mela – The Festival of Colors. Holi is celebrated across India to signify the end of winter, the onset of spring, victory of good over evil, and simply a day to meet others, play, enjoy, laugh, forgive and forget. 12pm-6pm
Join Kentucky Derby Festival for the event that started it all, the Zoeller Pump Company Pegasus Parade! The parade will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. to help kick-off Derby Week.
Spend some time at the Speed Art Museum on Sunday. Thanks to a generous contribution from Brown-Forman, general admission is FREE for all on Sundays through 2024. The free Sunday admission is named in honor of the late Owsley Brown II.
