Dairy Kastle ice cream in Louisville, KY

photo photo 2_zpszp6rnl4r.jpgOn hot and sticky nights, ice cream is the best solution to cool us down so we went and got some ice cream at Dairy Kastle. It was super busy when we got there and we were lucky to get one of their few parking spots. After a short wait, we were ready to order. My boys had lots of ideas of what they wanted but finally decided on a small chocolate milkshake for my 7 year old and a sprinkle dipped chocolate cone for the 4 year old. I got a small brown turtle sundae (chocolate and caramel) and my Mom got a small chocolate sundae. We both added whip cream, nuts, and a cherry which cost extra but is well worth it. We got lucky again and found an open table to sit at to enjoy our treats. They have 5 or 6 tables for use, with a few having umbrellas.

We all loved our choices but I did have to pay an extra .25 for a cup and spoon because the chocolate cone was melting faster than the 4 year old could eat it and I decided a cup would be helpful.

Dairy Kastle has lots of options including flurries, milk shakes (ex. brown cow, orange cow, banana, and peanut butter), sundaes (ex. Butterscotch, hot fudge, brown turtle), banana splits, hot fudge cake, and strawberry short cakes, and even vegan ice cream. They also have ice cream that you can dip into chocolate, cherry, or butterscotch. And if you bring your dog along go ahead and get him or her a milk bone sundae. Dairy Kastle also offers food as well but I’ve never tried it. Their menu offers hot dogs, brats, nachos, and BBQ pork to name a few. Make sure to bring cash because that is the only form of payment accepted and there isn’t an ATM nearby.
