Things to do for Labor Day Weekend around Louisville

Head to Waterfront Park and explore replica of Columbus' ships - the Nina & the Pinta.  They will be there August 28th through September 7th. Tickets: Adults $8, seniors (60 and older) $7, and children between the ages of 5-16 $6. Age 4 and under are free.

The Louisville Bats have games all weekend. Don’t forget that fireworks are on Friday and kids eat FREE on Sunday!


The University of Louisville has loads of sport choices this weekend. Go enjoy some soccer, volleyball, or field hockey here in town or find some place to go to cheer on the Cards when they play against Auburn on Saturday!

Steamboat Days in Jeffersonville features 3 days of fun for all ages. Food live music, art village, balloon glimmer, steamboat parade, family fun zone and more!

The World Fest is happening from September 4th-7th and admission is FREE! World Fest, one of the region’s largest international festivals, celebrates its 13th anniversary with four days of expanded world food, music, dance, culture and education this Labor Day weekend. World Fest takes place in downtown Louisville at the Belvedere located at 5th Street and Main Street.


The City of New Albany will be showing a movie on Saturday, September 5th. Grab your blanket and your popcorn and stretch out on the riverfront lawn because it’s time to sing-a-long with Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and the whole crew in this Frozen adventure. The movie begins at dark (est. 8pm start time).


Family Palooza is happening at all campuses of Southeast Christian Church. Labor Day • Monday, September 7 • 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. All Campuses: Blankenbaker, Indiana, Oldham, and Southwest. Come out to a FREE day of fun for the entire family! Carnival Games • Snocones • Inflatables • Water Slides • Arts and Crafts • Pony Rides. Fun for All Ages • Food Items for $1 or Less. Bring your friends and neighbors and join the fun!


The Kentucky Flea Market is all weekend so if you are ready to shop you should head over to the Kentucky Expo Center. Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-6, Sunday 11-6 and Monday 10-5. There is also a special antique section and admission is FREE!


The Flea Off Market is happening this weekend as well. September 4th--4pm to 10pm, September 5th--11am to 6pm, September 6th--11am to 5pm. Buy local and keep it weird!


The Kentucky Bluegrass Festival is going on September 4th-6th at the Louisville Water Tower Park. Friday 5-11pm, Saturday 4-11pm, and Sunday 4-11pm. Buy a 3 day pass for $30 or adults tickets cost $12 before 6pm and $16 after 6pm. Kids 10 and under are FREE!


Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest has a few activities scheduled for Saturday, September 5th. ECO Kids Discovery Day: Damsels and Dragons from 9am-5pm, Pollywog Play Party: Behaving Like Bugs & Bees from 10:30am-12pm (registration required), and Insect Safari from 2pm-3:30pm (registration required).


The Subway Fresh Fit Hike Bike & Paddle is an annual event held every Labor Day. Bring the entire family for this free, healthy hometown event. Various fitness demonstrations start the day including yoga, tai chi, zumba, pickleball, NIA and much more. There are numerous vendor booths available for information and giveaways. After all of that, take your pick from a 5k hike, 10-mile bike ride or a paddle on the Ohio River. This event is not a race. It is open to participants of all levels and we encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the festivities!
