Halloween 2016 Events in and around Louisville, KY

September 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, October 1, 7, 8, 14, 15,  21, 22, 28, 29: The Spirits of LaGrange Ghost Tour is a two-hour candlelit walking tour. The tour takes you inside locations with about eight stops along the way for a distance of 12 blocks. Tours depart from the Oldham County History Center 106 North Second Avenue (West Courthouse Square). Due to the potential spirit activity, all 100% genuine, tours are not recommended for children under 12.

September 16th - October 29th: Grim Trails. If you are looking for a scare! (Best for older children)

September 23rd: Ghost Stories with Roberta Simpson Brown. The Author of Queen of the Cold Blooded Tales and 10 other very scary books will be telling some of the scariest stories ever told and will share her latest encounter with the Pope Lick Monster! Starts at 6pm. *This program is not for the faint of heart. Bring brave companions and be prepared to be afraid!

September 24th: Culbertson Mansion Coffin Race starting at 12pm. After the race enjoy the artists, food, and music at the Carnegie Center for the Arts.

September 24 - October 29: Deere Farms Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, Southern Indiana’s LARGEST Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch attraction.

September 30th, Oct. 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29, 2016: Literally, A Haunted House - Culbertson Mansion. Not for the faint of heart. Starts at 7pm.

October- various dates: Bass Pro Shops will have FREE Halloween Events.

October 1st: Halloween Spooktacular is Family Fun for All Ages! Enjoy this early Halloween concert at the Brown Theatre for the whole family. Halloween music and activities engage youngsters in the thrill of the orchestra. Plus, a costume parade will end this Spooktacular concert! Pre-Concert activities begin at 10am in the lobby, show starts at 11am.

October 1st starts the ‘World’s Largest Halloween Party’ at the Louisville Zoo! CHEERY, not Eerie. If scary isn't any fun for your little ones, then don’t miss the sweetest party in town. Enjoy your Zoo magically transformed into a living storybook with costumed characters and trick-or-treating throughout the Zoo for kids 11 and under. 5:00pm-8:30pm. October 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30.

This kid-friendly event features a half-mile Fantasy Kiddie Trail with lots of candy stations, a Harvest Hay Village, Inflatable Party Zone, a comic Haunted House, jungle hayrides, treat stations, and fun activities for the entire family. Sunday, October 2, 3 pm – 9 pm (Rain date – Oct 16)

October 6th - 8th: Creepy Things at Idlewild. Spider house, creepy bugs, and more! $8 adults, $5 children. Every Thursday/Friday/Saturday during October.

October 8th: Hallow Green Free Costume Swap at The Diaper Fairy Cottage! Halloween might just be our favorite time of year! Join us for a FREE costume swap! Bring in last year's Halloween costume or outgrown dress-up clothes and come back to find something new! Drop off the costume anytime beginning September 1st and before Thursday, October 6th and receive 1 ticket per item that will allow you to "shop" Saturday, October 8th.

October 8th: Louisville Halloween Parade and Festival, 12 - 8 pm. Family-friendly Halloween fun including an all-new street festival from featuring craft booths and live entertainment. The highlight of the event is the 14th Annual Louisville Halloween Parade taking place at 4pm. Don't miss the fun!

October 8th:  Mary T Meagher Halloween Carnival. Trunk or Treat & Carnival Games from 4 - 6pm.

October 13 - November 6, 2016: The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular will be held in Iroquois Park with 5,000 carved pumpkins lining a ¼-mile walking trail, illuminated at night as an “art show” daily from dusk to 11 p.m. during the week (Sunday-Thursday) and midnight on Friday & Saturday.

October 13th - 15th: Creepy Things at Idlewild. Spider house, creepy bugs, and more! $8 adults, $5 children. Every Thursday/Friday/Saturday during October.

October 15th: Movies at Middletown Library: Casper from 2:00 pm-4:30 pm. Enjoy making a spooky craft and catching up with everyone’s favorite friendly ghost! This film is rated PG, children must be accompanied by an adult. Call 245-7332 to register.

October 15th: Haunted Halloween Backyard BBQ at Home of the Innocence from 4-7 pm! They’ve partnered with local restaurants to prepare a delicious BBQ feast in their haunted backyard. The food is delicious, and there is something for everyone – Halloween costume contests, a haunted trick or treat trail, games and inflatables, a spooky hayride tour of our 8-acre backyard, a petting zoo, and much more!

October 15th: Howl-O-Ween Search and Rescue at the Cure Lounge. 2 pm - 4a m. Pet costume contest, pumpkin painting, raffles, prize baskets, adoptable pets, food, drinks, scavenger hunt across Germantown. $30 per person. $100 for team of 4.

October 15th: Sunny Acres Farm Pumpkin Festival 12 - 5 pm. Admission is $5 per vehicle. Hayrides, petting zoo, bounce houses and pumpkin carving stations-- all weather permitting. Children's horseback ride, $3 each. Drinks, pumpkins, gourds, mums and farm fresh produce will be available for purchase from Sunny Acres Farm Market.

October 16th: Haunted House Mini-Event at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve. It's first-come, first-in-line for the self-guided tours. After touring the house, enjoy inflatables for kids and treat stations. All for only $5 and children 2 and under are FREE. Pizza, ice cream and face painting available for purchase.

October 21st: Friday Dance Party: Monster Mash! at the St. Matthew’s Library. 10:30am - 11:00 am. Come in costume for this special Halloween themed dance party! Ages 0-7

October 21st: Food Truck Friday Fall Festival at Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church, 6 - 8:30 pm. Dress in costume and enjoy a variety of food trucks including: Louisville Sushi, Lexie Lu's, Kentucky Taco and Louisville Desserts +  craft and domestic beers.

October 22nd: Spooky Dance Party for Kids! 10 - 11am. Join us for spooky songs and dances, an activity, and a not-so-scary snack! Shake your sillies out with us. All ages at the Southwest Library.

October 22nd: Fall Festival, Car and Craft Show, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, New Salem Baptist Church, 6408 Bethany Lane, Louisville, KY 40272. FREE Fall Festival, featuring a car show, craft fair, trunk-or-treat, and more!

October 22nd: Covenant Life Church Fall Festival, 4:00 - 7:00 pm. 2326 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville , IN 47130. Family event filled with fun and candy!

October 23rd: Fest-O-Ween At Paddock Shops 1 - 4 pm. Enjoy trick-or-treating, children's activities and a FREE pumpkin with a $10 receipt from any Paddock Shops retailer (while supplies last).

October 23rd: Halloween Havoc Nerf War from 5 - 8 pm! First annual Halloween themed nerf war! Please bring costumes, Halloween Themed! Ages 12+ only.

October 24th: Halloween Downtown 301 Mulberry Street Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Join us for Kentuckiana’s largest Halloween Party! The night is filled with trick-or-treating around Big 4 Station Park, inflatables, live entertainment, E.T. on the big screen and much more! Free event for ages 10 & under.

October 25th: Frankenstein: A Reading Performance by Kentucky Shakespeare. 7 pm, in the great parlor inside Locust Grove's historic home. Light refreshments provided. Tickets $20 per person or $15 for Locust Grove members; prepaid reservations required. Call(502) 897-9845 to reserve.

October 26th: Assumption Family Halloween Night 5:30 - 7:30 pm, at Assumption High School. FREE trick-or-treating, games, face painting, and more!

October 26th: Trick or Treatment 4 - 7:30 pm, at the Crescent Hill Gatehouse and Reservoir. Bring the entire family - costumes encouraged! Event includes a plant tour, prizes, fun science experiments and snacks. Healthy Zombie Walk around the Reservoir with activity stations along the way
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

October 26th: Fall Festival 6:30 - 8 pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church. The whole community is invited to this free event, so bring your friends and family in their costumes to enjoy an evening of decorated trunks, treats, games, crafts. Catered dinner by Moe's available at 6 pm. There is a charge for dinner only. Information available here.

October 27th: Trick or Treat Street at Fairdale Playtorium (behind the Fairdale Library). Free event. Treats, games, prizes. 12 and under. 6 - 7:30pm.

October 28th: Classic Horror Theater at Mary T. Meagher’s for Dive-In Theatre at 7pm. They will be showing Hotel Transylvania 2!

October 28th: Kidabalou at Breslin Park. 7 - 9 pm. FREE community event with music, trunk-or-treating, lots of food, lots and lots of candy for the kids and inflatable jumpies!

October 28th: Halloween Party at Annie May's Sweet Cafe. 5 - 8 pm. Fried food, cupcakes, and an allergen free treat bag for the kids! This will also be the F.A.T Trolley Hop night, and we have a trolley stop right in front of our shop. We will be frying allergen free corn dogs and vegan funnel cakes for the last time this year. We will be wearing our costumes, so you should wear yours! :)

October 28th: Dreams with Wings Jack O’Lantern Stroll from 6:00-9:00 pm at Louisville Slugger Field. In addition to the over 1,500 beautifully carved pumpkins lighting the night, the Stroll offers trick-or-treating in the safety of Slugger Field, games, crafts, Louisville’s largest pumpkin pie by Heitzman’s Traditional Bakery, members of the Louisville League of Mascots, University of Louisville athletes, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, live music and so much more.

October 29th: Trick or Treat with local Middletown Businesses from 10 am to 12 pm. Free pancake breakfast, candy, games, prizes and storytelling in the parking lot of First Baptist Church of Middletown.

October 29th: Mt. Washington Church of God Fall Festival, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. 172 Boxwood Run, Mt. Washington, KY 40047. Chili Cook off, Silent Auction at 4:30pm, Vendors, Bouncy house, Cake walks, Trunk or Treat at 4pm.

October 29th: Trick -or- Treat at The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass. 4 - 7 pm. Children 12 and under, accompanied by a supervising adult, are encouraged to wear their costumes and trick-or-treat from our participating stores. Enjoy face painting, balloon art, photo booth & more!

October 29th: Halloween in Downtown La Grange, Trick-or-Treating at participating shops from 11am to 3pm. Costume Contest at 1pm on Walnut Street next to Rainy Day Resale.

October 29th: FCUMC Trunk or Treat ,1 - 3 pm. Fern Creek United Methodist Church, 6727 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY 40291.

October 29th: Take a Boo Sightseeing Cruise on the Belle of Louisville from 11:30-2pm.

October 29th: Hogoween at Bluegrass Harley of Louisville. Free Pizza from 12:00 - it's gone! Pumpkin Painting for the kids, candy & cookies, and more! Come in costume and take a selfie in front of the Bluegrass Banner get a $25.00 off coupon good on a licensed product!

October 29th: Trunk or Treat/Chili Cookoff, 5 - 8 pm, Middletown United Methodist Church, 11902 Old Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40243. Throw on your Halloween costume and join us at Middletown UMC for free candy and free chili. Feel free to decorate your car/truck and join us at 5 p.m. for food, fun, and fellowship.

October 29th: Kidabalou at Northeast Christian Church Brownsboro Rd. campus. 7 - 9 pm. FREE community event with music, trunk-or-treating, lots of food, lots and lots of candy for the kids and inflatable jumpies!

October 29th: Corydon Halloween Parade. Get in the spirit of Halloween and come dressed in your favorite costume and stroll through the Square in downtown Corydon. The parade starts from the Harrison County Fairgrounds at 6:00 p.m.

October 29th: Pumpkinfest is in Jeffersontown from 11am-1pm. This is a great alternative to the traditional trick-or treating. Children dress in costume and trick-or-treat along Historic Gaslight Square, enjoy activities at the pavilion and enjoy lunch.

October 29th: Boo Dell at Yew Dell, 11am-2pm Trail-o-Treats, Hay rides, a straw maze, scavenger hunts and the popular Mr. Magic at 2pm will round out this fabulous fall day. Bring a pumpkin decorated like a character from your favorite book and enter the Jack-o-Lantern Look-a-Like contest! This event draws a big crowd, so come early to get in on the goodies. Free with Regular Admission!

October 29th: Halloween in Brown Park. 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. This free and family-friendly Halloween celebration includes trick-or-treating stations throughout Brown Park, bounce houses, hay rides, a petting zoo, and games.

October 29th: Halloween Bash at Turnip the Beet, 11 - 3 pm. Pumpkin Carving, Halloween Cupcake Decorating, Face-Painting, Stir-up flavored popcorn, Make Candied Apples and enjoy apple cider. Come in costume for entry into our contest for free lessons! $10 per family/pumpkin. Please RSVP to ensure enough materials.

October 29th: Fright Light Halloween Party at the Gheens Science Hall & Rauch Planetarium from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Ghoulishly good times abound at our frightfully fun Fright Light Halloween Party. $5/person covers kids' activities, treats and our Fright Light Laser Show. (No free admits, coupons, discounts).

October 29th: Halloween Party at All About Kids Sports Center from 6 to 9 pm! Join us for an evening of spooky fun including trick or treating, open gym and swim, and a costume contest! Plus all participants receive a goody bag!

October 29th: Hope Lutheran Church Trunk or Treat, 6-8pm. 4200 Shenandoah Dr., Louisville 40241. This will be a safe, family-friendly way to dress up, gather treats and enjoy some fall activities.

October 29th: Nightmare in NULU, 12 pm to 2 am (10/30). Celebrate Halloween in NULU! All day events, fun for everyone!DAY: Stop by any NULU store in your halloween costumes for Trick-or-Treating, decorate pumpkins, get your face painted and grab discount cards from our NULU businesses. NIGHT: Adults can let the fun continue into the night with a neighborhood bar crawl COSTUMES ENCOURAGED!

October 30th: Trick or Treat at the Track, 2 - 6 pm. Churchill Downs and our community partners present a safe environment for families to dress up & enjoy Halloween fun under the Twin Spires! Children 11 and under are invited to trick or treat.

October 31st: FREE Scary Face Pancakes at IHOP for kids 12 and under, 7 am - 10 pm. Scary Face Pancakes come with a world-famous Buttermilk Pancake topped with whipped cream, a strawberry nose and served with a side of OREO® cookies and candy corn so your kids can let their silliness shine through with their monster creations. (Available for a fee throughout the rest of the October).

October 31st: Trunk or Treat at St. Matthews Baptist Church from 6 to 8 pm. Indoors! Everything is FREE! For children of all ages! Games, inflatables, hot dog dinner and trunk-or-treating. 3515 Grandview Avenue, 40207.

October 31st: Fall Festival, 6 - 8 pm, Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Road Louisville, KY 40031. Free Trunk Treating, Games, Inflatables, Candy, Prizes.

October 31st: Hallelujah Party at Bates Memorial Baptist Church. Doors open at 6 pm. A fun alternative to Halloween!

Halloween on Hillcrest is a legendary street for Halloween decorations in the Ville. If you are looking for a street to visit this Halloween, take a walk down Hillcrest to check out some of the most elaborate Halloween decorations you will find in any neighborhood in town.
