Saturday
It’s the annual Derby Day Run! The goal is to get to Barbaro for the picture at 9am. They will leave Iroquois Park at 8 am, so arrive on time! This is a fun run to Churchill Downs where you’ll see all the Derby-goers dressed in their finest. Hats/fascinators encouraged!

Join Morning Fork for a galactic brunch experience like no other. Feel the Force and indulge in food and drink items inspired by the galaxy far, far away. (Happening on Sunday as well)

In case you need a drop off camp for Derby Day (or Oaks Day) here are a few ideas to check out!

For the first time ever, independent bookstores in the Greater Louisville area are partnering for READ FOR THE ROSES — a two-week long celebration surrounding Independent Bookstore Day, which takes place on Saturday, April 27th. Participating bookstores include Carmichael’s Bookstore (Frankfort Ave and Bardstown Rd locations), Carmichael’s Kids, Foxing Books, A Novel Romance, Butcher Cabin Books, Set & Setting, and The Rosewater Bookstore. From April 20th to May 5th, you will be able to pick up a special READ FOR THE ROSES bookmark from any participating bookstore. Click here for all the details!

Sunday

Beltane is an ancient Gaelic festival, marking the halfway point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. It’s a time to honor fertility, growth, and the vibrant energy of the season. At a Beltane festival, you can expect themed food, showcasing an array of handmade crafts, jewelry, and artisanal goods, and entertainment by the Sister’s of the Dancing Moon.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with fun for all ages at The Depot at NoCo! They will have food, kid’s activities, music and more. 1:00-4:00pm

Spend some time at the Speed Art Museum on Sunday. Thanks to a generous contribution from Brown-Forman, general admission is FREE for all on Sundays through 2024. The free Sunday admission is named in honor of the late Owsley Brown II.
