Free Things to Do in and around Louisville February 2017

1. Valentine Pajama Breakfast at the Iroquois Louisville Free Public Library location –Saturday, February 4th at 10:30 a.m. Come dressed in your PJs for stories, Valentine’s crafting and breakfast in the library!

2. On the 3rd, take advantage of the First Friday Hop and ride the trolley over to the art district, or maybe just to go grab a bite to eat downtown.



3. Home Depot Kid’s Workshop - Saturday, February 4th, 9 a.m. -12 p.m.
Get crafty with your kid and help them build their own Valentine-themed photo box!

4. Owsley Sunday! Visit the Speed Art Museum on any SUNDAY in February for Free (*and any Sunday until 2021 due to a donation made by Brown-Forman in honor of the late Owsley Brown II).

5. Barnes & Noble at the Paddock Shops have free Storytime every Saturday at 11a.m.
Weekly themes:
4th- Disney Reads Day
11th- Valentine’s Day Stories
18th- Mighty, Mighty Construction Site Storytime
25th- Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! Storytime

6. Gheens Great Expectations Concert - Wednesday February 8, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Free concert featuring violinist Melissa Whiteand a side-by-side performance by The Louisville Orchestra and Louisville Youth Orchestra.

7. Bird Craft - Saturday, February 18, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Various activities throughout the day, including making a bird puppet and/or bagel birdseed feeder. Learn how to do the Backyard Bird Count and record results throughout the day. Try your skills in the bird blind before trying it at home.

8. The University of Louisville Baseball games are free to enjoy, and there are four home games in the month of February:
22nd- 3 p.m. against Eastern Kentucky
24th- 3 p.m. against Nebraska-Omaha
25th- 1 p.m. against Nebraska-Omaha
26th- 12 p.m. against Nebraska-Omaha

9. On Saturday, February 25th, why not head downtown to Waterfront Park to help support the Special Olympics?!?! The annual Polar Plunge takes place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and is always a great event to cheer for... especially if you’re not the one in the chilly water! ☺

11. Come Sew With Us – Upcycled Sweaters
Free Sewing classes!! Monday the 27th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Oldham County Cooperative Extension in LaGrange. All ages are welcome. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. The project of the day is not mandatory; you are encouraged to bring your own project to work on. They ask that you please call to reserve your seat. 502-222-9453

12. Visit a Free demo classes with Heartland Music Together! Classes are available for babies, toddlers and preschools on several dates throughout the month. There are several locations around the Louisville area!
