Most of these fall festivals take place on weekends so you can likely pick a few to put on your calendar and hope your busy schedule works out! Louisville is an amazing place to have fun in the fall and September does not disappoint.

WorldFest, Louisville’s premier international festival, is the most diverse, inclusive, and equitable event in the region. On the Belvedere, times vary each day.


September 2

Music Under the Stars – Join them for a FREE celebration of the 85th anniversary of the Iroquois Amphitheater! Admission is FREE, no tickets required, gates open at 6:00 PM!

Fleur de FleaThe Fleur De Flea Vintage Urban OUTDOOR Market returns to the WATERFRONT Plaza Labor Day weekend on Saturday, September 2, 2023! Vendors from all over the south will be set up! 213 Witherspoon St


September 4

Subway Fresh Fit Hike, Bike & PaddleLouisville cyclists, paddlers and walkers will be on the move again at the Mayor’s Hike, Bike & Paddle as it returns for another Labor Day at Waterfront Park Great Lawn. All portions of the event have been reworked to ensure participants will be socially distanced.

Free Movie Night: Star Trek Into Darkness – This movie is rated PG-13. Gates open at 7:30 for concessions and door prizes, the movie starts at 8:30 at Iroquois Amphitheater.


September 8 and 9

Middletown’s Family Fun Festival & Craft Show – Held annually in Wetherby Park area of Middletown, there are over 150 craft and food vendors, competitions, parade, bands, and end of the night light show. 


September 9

V-Dub Derby at Saint Joseph Childern’s Home 9am-4pm


September 9 and 10

Big Four Bridge Arts Festival – Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 10am-5pm


September 10

The Big Table – Come hungry to this Free September Events. Leave fulfilled! 5pm-7pm at Iroquois Park. Louisville’s Largest Potluck Enough good food and enough good people can change the world. Magical things happen when we share a meal. We talk. We connect. We build community. And that’s what we intend to do at Louisville’s largest potluck. September 10-17

Gaslight Festival – Various events during the week including a parade, car show, balloon glow, art show, entertainment and more.


September 16

The Flea Off Market – 1036 E. Burnett Ave., Louisville, KY 40217. Part of the Fall Schnitzelburg Fest

Kaleidoscope Family Festival – Visit the Waterfront Botanical Gardens for a day of FREE family fun and look at the world “Through the Lens of Plants.” 10am-4pm


September 23

Nulu Fest at 600, 700, 800 Blocks of East Market Street 11am-10pm. NuLu is hosting it’s well-known street festival celebrating the continued growth and revitalization of Louisville’s East Market District. Come enjoy live music, records, regional micro-brewed beers, and numerous food and retail booths by local vendors. There will be activities for all ages. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.


September 27

WFPK Waterfront Wednesday – Back 2 Mac, Sheryl Rouse Band and Sweet G & The Shine. The free concerts take place on the Big Four Lawn in Louisville’s Waterfront Park. The Big Four Lawn is located next to the Big Four Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge. The shows open at 5 p.m., with music beginning promptly at 6 p.m.
