photo jeff_zps48d18308.jpgI have had the pleasure of working with Jeff Ramsey from Lite 106.9 for over 2 years.  We’ve shared some Friday morning’s together on air during his radio morning show and I have loved hearing about how Louisville has changed, what it was like to grow up here as well as raise children here.  Since I see Louisville with fresh eyes having only lived here for 5 years, it’s awesome to get the perspective of someone that has seen the evolution of a city and knows so much of it’s traditions.  This month, we highlight Jeff Ramsey who is a parent…….like us!

Tell us a little bit about your family and how long you have called the Louisville area your home:
Me and my wife and two kids have lived in Louisville for all of their lives but two years. (my oldest daughter was born in Huntington, WV..)

You and your children have grown up here. Tell us something that has changed that you think is great for the city.
A lot has changed since 1996 – Slugger Field was built where a junkyard used to be…..Waterfront Park was not around and football games were played at Old Cardinal Stadium.

What is your go-to family restaurant?
We love eating at El Nopal on Goose Creek Road!

Tell us about your favorite Dad activity that you like to do with your kids.
My kids are huge UofL fans…my daughter Sadie attends UofL and my son Jake can usually be found wearing UofL gear. My kids both grew up playing basketball. Both won State AAU championships and my son still plays. (Junior at Ballard High) I love watching them play! We love to fish together…although I think they go more for my benefit!

Readers always say it’s difficult to find family things to do with teenagers. Give them some recommendations.
I connect with my kids through music and sports- Yes I workout to Drake and Lamar Kendrick!

Thanks Jeff for letting us get to know you a little better as a parent!
