What you need to know for the 2019 Republic Bank Pegasus® Parade

Once again, it’s time to stand in awe as Louisville’s giant winged horse makes his annual trek through the middle of Downtown. Referring of course, to the Republic Bank Pegasus® Parade which commemorates the final two days of this year’s Kentucky Derby Festival. It will be Downtown on Broadway, Thursday May 2, at 5:00 pm. Leading the beloved Pegasus will be an amazing series of floats alongside inflatable characters, marching bands, and mighty equestrians. It’s definitely an entertaining event for the whole family. Especially because this year’s theme is “Pegasus Power”, featuring your favorite Marvel superheroes.

Because the parade takes place right after the Avenger’s: Endgame premiere, the event will be a hero’s welcome. Imagine the joy on your children’s faces when they suddenly see Captain America, Black Panther, Black Widow, and Spider-Man.

Encourage your children to dress up as their favorite superhero during the Pegasus Parade. Kids love costumes (remember the excitement over a simple paper crown?), so they will take any opportunity to become who they admire.

It’s recommended to arrive early to get a good spot. If you do, your kids may have an opportunity to get a high-five. Children love high-fives, now let’s stack a few from their heroes.

So if you want to be entertained and show appreciation for the city and the Festival, come to the Pegasus Parade. You can buy bleacher tickets for $10 or chair seating for $12. End your Festival the right way and live it up.
