Spread Kindness in December

DCPD

We are partnering with RAK Louisville to help spread kindness to children and families around Louisville this December

Let’s help RAK Louisville this December so they can spread kindness even more this month!

RAK Louisville is an organization started a few years ago by a young Louisvillian, Andrew Dunn. Through RAK Louisville, he has been able to build a movement of kindness throughout the city by doing the little things for people that mean so much.

We found RAK Louisville through social media and during the pandemic, my children and I decided to try doing a snack bag drive as suggested on their website. We made digital flyers and promoted it to our friends, neighbors and family. People sent up money for shopping, food via online ordering, and dropped off even more.

When we were finally finished collecting, the kids had a blast putting together gallon baggies with meals, snacks, treats and more. We made almost 150 bags! Andrew came and picked up all of the bags and then distributed them to Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana. It’s really wonderful and quite simple to do!

So, what about this month?

Even simpler, for 2020, we are asking you to participate in 23 Days of Kindness with RAK Louisville. Just print out the calendar and you and your children can pick our easy ways to make people smile and remind people that kindness is very much alive.

In honor of our 11th birthday as a business (which is December 20,2020), we usually have a big party and give away prizes and have so much fun together. We know we cannot do that this year. RAK Louisville told us that Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana are going to have to start charging families for the services they offer because, like so many things, 2020 has been difficult.

Andrew often donates snack bags to Parkland Boys and Girls Club. They serve 50-55 kids at their locations. To cost to serve a child in their program for a year as doubled because of the pandemic and is now $7,500 per year. We have to help them!

Will you donate $11 to RAK Louisville to help us sponsor kids through Boys and Girls Clubs? RAK Louisville will collect and give 100% of the $11 donations to Boys an Girls Clubs so we can collectively cover the expenses for many kids in 2021.

Here’s how it works:
