Congratulations- you’ve officially reached the halfway point in the year! It’s hard to believe! Here are some great free July events so you can have fun without spending a small fortune.


All month long:
– Spraygrounds and Splash Pads

– Kids Skate Free at Champs Rollerdrome
Free Cultural Pass Information

Free drop-in tour Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind at 10:00am and 2:00pm.  

Every Wednesday: 

Blackacre Conservancy hosts “Story Time with Miss Prim” at 10am. Toddlers to age 99 enjoy the stories read by Miss Prim, our 18th century teacher.  There is always a little extra surprise, too! This is a free event and open to the public.

Every Saturday:
Farm Animal Feeding at Blackacre Conservancy at 9:30am.

On Sundays:

Cherokee Triangle Summer Concert Series at Willow Park 7 – 9 pm.

Various Dates in July:
Shakespeare in the Park at Central Park. Most shows are at 8pm.

Rose Island History Hike – Charlestown State Park – 10am – 12pm 

July 1 & 8

Beechmont Summer Concert Series –  The Concert Series is designed as a free, outdoor musical experience at the gazebo (corner of Southern Parkway and West Woodlawn Avenue) with artists/bands from the Louisville Federation of Musicians (Local 11-637). 6:30-8:30pm

Independence Day Events around Louisville

July 8 & 22

FridayFest – Highview Park, 6:00-10:00pm 

July 9

Free Kids Day at the Market – East End Farmers Market, 13060 Factory Ln, 2:00-5:00pm.

July 9 & 16

Louisville Ballet free Dance Workshop at Seneca Park & Shelby Park (July 9) and Iroquois Park & Chickasaw Park (July 16). Select participants will be awarded a 22-23 Ballet Bound Scholarship. Free but must reserve tickets. 

Ballet Bound is a Louisville Ballet program that provides young dancers from all across Greater Louisville the opportunity to study classical ballet free of charge in a professional setting.

July 10

Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social – Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing – 1:00pm-5:00pm


July 23-25

51th Annual World Dainty Championship – George Hauck Way – 5:00pm

July 27

Waterfront Wednesday – Big Four Lawn at Waterfront Park, located next to the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge. Music starts at 6pm, lawn opens at 5pm.
